When I was little, I was obsessed with Van Gogh. I’m not sure where that came from but I loved that he wasn’t afraid to cross disciplines and throw himself into new things. I think within us we all hold multitudes. Our home has many rooms and I’ve walked through quite a few already. I started my career in legal and dipped my toes in finance before moving to commercial real estate, with many hospitality roles in between. I loved my time in the corporate world. Yet I felt a calling to explore other sides of myself far from the familiar conditions that had shaped this home.
This led me from trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal, to silent retreats and ashrams in India, island adventures in Indonesia and to many other worlds in between.
I was fortunate to learn yoga first from the Amazonian jungles of Peru, continue as a student at the source in India and then meditation from Tibetan monks in nunneries not far from the Dalai Lama's home. I recall hopping on shared taxis with 10 locals squished inside a 4x4, driving for hours through the mountain villages of Sikkim, feeling like where the h*ll am I, yet knowing I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. This journey has shown me that home is within us and we all have access to inner peace, contentment and joy.
